Cindy Rockett, Executive Director

Cindy is the mission's executive director. An Illinois and Pennsylvania native, she has lived long enough in the Bristol area to be considered a 'local.' Her husband, Bob, is a teacher in the public schools. They have two grown children, Don and Joy. Cindy worked as the program director for State Street UMC for several years, and more recently in the business office of Wallace Automotive Group in Bristol, TN.

Cindy joined the mission full-time in April 2004. Her role includes directing fundraising efforts, managing the finances, handling publications and publicity, coordinating volunteer efforts, representing the mission to various groups, and even assists onboard. She is also involved with Abuse Alternatives, a local women's shelter.

Katie Johnson, FNP

Katie was born in Wise VA, but grew up primarily in Kingsport, TN. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC. Prior to obtaining her Masters Degree from ETSU, she worked as a RN in Cardiac Rehabilitation, Oncology, and Pediatrics. She worked as a FNP at Unicoi County Family Practice in Erwin, TN prior to joining CMM in April 2006.

She married her husband, Dale, in 2003. He is also a nurse practitioner who works for the Downtown Clinic in Johnson City, TN.

Tim Schwob, MD

An Illinois native, Tim is a board-certified family physician. He received his medical degree from Ross University in 1983, and completed his residency training in family medicine at the Bristol Family Medicine Residency Program in Bristol, TN in 1986. He has practiced emergency medicine in Bristol, been in private practice in Kingsport and Piney Flats, and in urgent care clinics. He currently is working in an area urgent care clinic.

He and his wife, Tammy, were married in 1986. She works for a local respiratory care company, and is involved in children's Sunday School. Their daughter, Alex, was born in 1994, and loves to sing.

Paul Derden, MD

A native Texan, Paul is a board-certified family physician. He received his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1982, and completed his residency in family medicine at the Bristol Family Medicine Residency Program in 1985. He has worked in various capacities around the area, including several years as an assistant professor of Family Medicine in Bristol, full-time emergency medicine in Bristol, private practice in Kingsport and in a community health center in Damascus, and in urgent care clinics. He currently works at Piney Flats Urgent Care in Piney Flats, TN.

His wife, Jaymie, is a part-time director of Christian education and volunteer Elementary Sunday school coordinator of their church. She consults with other churches developing the rotation model Sunday school program. (rotationhelp.com) They have two children, Bethany and Jonathan (av8rphotos.com).
